WRITEBLR INTRO
Hello hello! my name is sunny: 20 yr. he/him; this is my third attempt at a writeblr after tumblr nuked my last one. all my mutuals... lost...
I'm looking for active writers to be mutuals and interact with (bonus if ur open to beta reading! or want a beta reader!) I'm open to ask about ocs and tags for writing games! Don't be afraid to say hi :)
I currently have a ton of wips (over twenty), with most in planning stages, some in drafting.
My current focus, 'WANDERLUST' is a middle-grade coming-of-age fantasy with some religious trauma and existential dread.
I'll be posting info and snippets of my wips, while following/liking/commenting on my main account: @sunmerry-strawb as this is my side-blog
About me:
I'm an aspiring baker
I own a menace (cat) named pebbles
I write in a variety of genres; but my favourite are fantasy, supernatural and horror mainly centred around late teenage casts. I always end up accidentally sprinkling horror of some kind into all of my wips
My favourite book is currently "Gideon the Ninth", I adore Tamsyn muir's writing. I'm also a huge fan of Dungeon meshi and Witch Hat Atelier among other things! (as you can see above, Digimon)
My wips are under the cut! I have many more; these are the ones I'm currently focused on. I'm more than happy to share more spoiler-y details and brainstorm in DMs!! Especially in exchange for info on your wips ;)
Click the titles to be transported to the wip's intro post!
Tumblr media
WANDERLUST
A pair of young twins find themselves trapped in a fantasy realm, and with the aid of local kids embark on a treasure hunt for five magical rings contrived from an old legend in order to return home.
Shadow Knights
A story set in a near futuristic city grappling with rapidly developing technology, centered around a young woman who accidentally discovers a science experiment that went wrong, leading to artificially created monsters stalking the city streets and killing residents. She joins a team to hunt them down. (aka the wip with the most body horror and psychological horror BY FAR.)
STRAY
A post-nuclear apocalypse story about a band of teenagers and their journey across the rotting world in search of a safe-haven called "Paradise".
Dragonborn
A story about three kids on the Australian coast who fall through a sinkhole and accidentally uncover the secret population of dragons living in their underground cave systems.
By the seashore
A story about a young boy named Louis who decides to stay with his father at a small coastal town for the summer after the death of his mother, and finds an amnesiac, mute boy washed ashore the beach after a thunderstorm.

Writer Questionnaire
Thanks @drchenquill, @the-letterbox-archives, @the-golden-comet and @ominous-feychild the tags!
I haven’t posted in a little bit because of real life, but I might be back soon. I miss you guys…
how long have you had your writing tumblr/writeblr? a fast and loose estimate is fine!
Just over a month.
what led you to create it?
I wanted to chat about my world and I really didn’t like the atmosphere in other social medias.
what’s your favourite thing about the writeblr community?
All of the talent and love <3 Making this account has motivated me to plan 3 different WIPs and write the first few chapters. I had never been able to get to this place before, so thank you everyone!
what’s one thing you’d like your mutuals to know about you?
Feel free to ask things. Even if it is just a hello! I love interacting with people, any questions about my world or my writing process. Or Physics if you are particularly curious…
is there anything you’d like to see more of on your dash?
I like my dash. Lots of great people!! I wouldn’t really change anything.
which wips or writing projects are you noodling about, lately?
I have just finished by full outline of the Xaeren WIP and have written a draft of chapter one. I have also finished chapter 3 of Paeliae.
how long have you been working on them?
Well I started building the world years ago, just daydreams, maps and languages. I wrote the history mostly last year and this year and then the characters developed from the places and history.
do you remember what inspired them/what got you started?
The world was a project I started just for fun, then acted as a setting to tell stories in. I then liked the stories a lot and decided to write them.
how much time, in your best estimation, do you spend thinking about them?
A long time. Not even just my current characters, many many more people who don’t even fit in this world as well.
when someone asks the dreaded, “what do you write about,” question, what do you usually say?
Umm… I say Sci-fi fantasy, and worldbuilding, then when they look blankly at me I say like tolkein and then they leave me alone.
name any characters you created. side characters, protagonists, antagonists, characters who’ve never been written, the first original abomination you ever pulled from your ass; whomever you’d like!
The main characters in chronological order:
-Ez and Rin (they are the the first romantic relationship I wrote and I love them.)
-Paeliae (His story describes the dissolution.)
-Xaeren (The inventor of most runes and the last godkiller.)
-Apollo and Tyro (Essentially modern day)
-Marsh and Daimion (I’m still not sure how future-ish I want this.)
who’s the most unhinged?
That really depends.
I’m sure lots of people would expect Marsh, but while he has no internal rules against murder, he keeps closely to the rules he does hold for himself and is really loyal when it comes down to it. Even if he doesn’t realise this he does care deep in some hidden part of him.
Xaeren cares the least about his own moral code. The only motivator he has is killing the goddess, and there is nothing he won’t do to get there regardless of the fact he knows it is wrong. He assumes he will die in the attempt so lives like a dead man because he has no life beyond this purpose. He might appear kind at first but you will always be second to his mission.
who comes the most naturally for you to write?
Apollo or Marsh. Apollo because he is lovely, I always like writing him comfort the team and also his fight scenes are really cool. Marsh because he acts so carefree and his humour is great.
do you ever cringe at them?
Yes. Mainly because I hate my writing, but also I just don’t like writing romance in general, so writing Zahra and Daimion has always been a bit weird. Strangely I never got that vibe with Ez and Rin, that might be because they are such a beautiful tragic couple that the story feels less like a romance.
how much control do you feel you have over your characters? do they ever “write themselves,” refuse to cooperate, or do things you didn’t expect? to what degree? are some less cooperative than others?
Well… I have a very clear idea of who they are and would much sooner change a plot point than a character so in that sense I have little control, but also they are my people so I can get them to cooperate.
do you enjoy people asking questions about your characters? and do you have a preferred means of receiving said questions? for example, as asks, as replies, as reblogs, as tag notes, as comments on ao3, etc.
Yes!!! I love it, any method is great! I am more likely to see asks and reblogs, but anything works!
what makes you want to follow another writeblr account? do you follow ‘em as you see ‘em, or take time scoping out the blog to make sure you align with its content? do you follow based on wips, or vibes?
Vibes. If they seem cool, I will follow them. I’ll likely do a quick check to make sure that they seem like a real person and that they make posts that I would like to see, but this is not usually based on their WIP type.
what makes you decide against following?
If I wouldn’t like to see their posts, I won’t follow them. This could be for many reasons, but common ones include: They seem like a bot, they post overobscene stuff, they make me feel uncomfortable, etc.
do you interact with non-mutuals often?
Sometimes, but if I interact with someone I am likely to then follow them.
do your mutuals’ characters occupy space in your noodle?
Yes! I have so many peoples characters whom I love and cherish.

🌿 pinespittinink reintro 🌿
hello and welcome to my blog 💌 i'm easing myself back into writeblr and hope to meet some new people and continue to vibe as i always have on here. this is not my main blog, so while i may follow you, it won't be from this account. i don't follow or engage with minors; all my work is adult and queernorm unless otherwise indicated.

i've been around here sporadically since 2018 and always tend to come home; i like prompts and ask games and tags and fun things. i write love stories in sci-fi and fantasy settings, and i'm working towards traditional publishing always. currently i'm querying my adult fantasy standalone, The Great Glavenisean Theater (The Night Circus x House of Leaves). i enjoy writing nsfw content, lush scene setting, and detailed emotional headspaces.

(bi4bi otp). a social-climber uses subterfuge, blackmail, and murder to achieve his ambitions, and the court eccentric that he's in love with gets weirder and weirder when a new discovery is brought back by an exploration team.
star white 🌟 {wip intro} {general tag} romantic space fantasy, standalone. (gay otp) one man searches for the love of his life after he's been abducted by sentient dark matter, and spends millions of years travelling through space with a semi-organic AI ship.
solene's verse 🌊 epic fantasy, duology. (t4t otp) a young self-taught wizard makes a ton of bad decisions, as a group of ragtag youths from the cesspit of the world try to rescue the elder brother of one of their own from a tower of cultists.

Hi Etta! Sorry if you already mentioned this, but where/how did you find your editors? (If you don't mind sharing)
Don't mind at all!
I know there are companies like Reedsy and the Writers Digest which have databases of editors, but that seemed really overwhelming. At the end of the day, the best way to get resources is to network (make friends, and hope their mutuals like you too).
Last year, I did an interview for Amanda Auler on Instagram and she boosted my account, so months later I ended up doing an interview for Addison Horner. He does editing for indie authors, so I asked him for a sample edit and liked it, but I wanted to get other points of comparison first, so I asked around and came up with a short list of editors. I contacted them, and when I had enough to compare, I ended up deciding I liked Addison best and drew up a contract with him. God moment that I found him so quickly.
But if I had to give this advice to someone else I'd recommend following these steps:
Read books in your genre. Read INDIE AUTHORS in your genre. Review their books. Follow them on social media. Be a friendly fan but don't make it weird.
Indie authors are one person publishing teams desperate for engagement and positive attention. They will thank you for your help and be willing to pay it forward when the time comes.
Once you have a handful of books you like that have similar vibes to your book, flip to the acknowledgements and find the editors name.
Google the editor, find their site, submit your inquiry, email works better than a form.
If you can't find the editor online, DM the indie author and ask "hey I really liked your book and it's a good comp title for my WIP. Who's your editor and what was your experience with them like? Do you mind pointing me their way?" Follow the author's advice. Repeat as needed.
(I've only ever received nice responses to this, don't be anxious. If they don't reply they're probably just busy, not annoyed).
When you contact editors, ask about their availability, rates, and be specific about what type of editing you need. Ask for a free sample edit. Mine were 250-2500 words.
Supply details about your WIP. Mine looked like this:
Title: Runaways
Genre: Middle Grade Portal Fantasy. I'm not labeling it as "Christian Fiction" as religion isn't a focus point of the story, but there are significant underlying Catholic themes.
Premise: When Cecelia goes missing one stormy Halloween night, her older sister, Hannah, must venture into the faerie courts to learn the truth about their past and bring her home. (Linked WIP Page with additional information)
Length: About 86,000 words, 180 pages (Times New Roman, 12pt, double spaced, standard 1in margins formatting). 21 chapters with an epilogue
Style: 3rd person limited, present tense. 3 POV characters: primarily Hannah at first, and then Cecelia and the third added later, alternating.
Status/Timeline/Availability: Currently with a 2nd round of beta readers, and I'll be getting feedback by March 31st. After editing the draft to reflect their feedback and doing my own line edits, I'll be looking for a line/copy edit around April/May or early summer.
Types of edits needed: As I understand, every editor uses "line" and "copy" edit slightly differently, but I'm looking for a combination of both styles if possible: checking for internal consistency, logical choreography, adequate descriptions, minor plot or worldbuilding errors, as well as language concerns like cutting crutch words, making sentence structure more dynamic, choosing the right verbs, etc. Developmental editing not needed. Waiting to do proofreading at the moment
When perusing at the editors site, look for credentials/certifications, their backlog of works, and testimonials
If you don't have enough options following this method, join some discord servers! I'm in a local NaNoWriMo group and a Catholic Writers Guild called Inkwells and Anvils which were both useful. I think there might be some writeblr ones as well. Find the critiques channel and send the same information there^^
Compare sample edits. Who respects your voice? Who supplied the most insightful comments? Do you vibe over email? Are they willing to do a stylesheet? Do they like your book? Can you set up a 15 minute zoom call to see if you vibe and discuss details?
Look at prices. My rate is $.015 a word but that's pretty cheap for the industry. Most of the rates I saw publicly were between $.02-.03/word for line editing.
Pray/sleep on it
Once you pick your best option, set a date to send them the manuscript, sign contracts, and make payment.
Send a polite email to the other editors and say "I regret to say you're not quite the right fit for this book, but I appreciate all your time, help, and advice! I hope to work with you in the future" or something along those lines. Don't burn your bridges.
Celebrate!
This whole process took me a couple weeks, everyone was very punctual and professional and friendly. I ended up going with Addison not only because he was the cheapest but also because he made 3X the number of comments as any other writer, and his comments were specific and useful. He understood my characters immediately, I think in part because his writing style is similar to mine, based on his debut novel, Marrow and Soul. We're both Christians who like YA dark fantasy. It's a good match. He's still taking clients for later in the year if that's your vibes. I also worked with Amber Burdett and Sariah Solomon, who were both lovely.
I wish you the best of luck finding an editor who fits your story! I hope this was helpful and not overly long.

Creatrackers: A Novella Series
Tumblr media
Story (re)introduction
Genre: paranormal fiction, mystery
Tropes: paranormal investigation, found-family, lgbtq+ cast, English gothic, cryptids, folklore, friendly neighbourhood vampire, character blog
Status: book 1: first draft complete + being edited (current word count: 24607) book 2: half written book 3: outlined
Synopsis:
Holly, Adrian, Jo, and Omari are the original Creatrackers; a self-proclaimed research team who try to find evidence of supernatural beings and any other creature they hear about. As the number of crew members and their fans grow, and as the original four start to get older, their fun little hunts start to become far too real. Watch these characters evolve as they grow into adults who start to unravel what truly is out there in the world. In the first book two new members join, including Willa. A seemingly normal 21 year old who has actually been travelling the earth for the past few hundred years, trying to keep her vampire identity a secret. She has no thirst for human blood, only human cultures and the way of life for other creatures like herself. She becomes interested in the group while living in a small English town, and soon joins them on a hunt. Then another, and another... What could possibly go wrong for a vampire who befriends a bunch of monster hunters?

I started this story in July of 2021, though it has been in the back of my mind for longer. Most of it was written between September 2021-January 2022. I spent a year living in England during that time, and it helped me so much with my writing. Not only for realism to the story, which is set in England, but because I was doing online classes and the only person I truly knew in the country (besides my family) was my elderly neighbour. Those months were mostly spent exploring the countryside, sitting by the ocean, struggling through my classes at home, and at a cafe downtown where I wrote. I missed my friends and social life, but this story helped me through that. The group of characters really felt like friends, as cliche and silly as that sounds. I wrote them to be my age, and now as I work on the next two novellas they grow with me.
I started this account as a username claim. I didn't plan on making it into a writeblr account, nor expected to enjoy it so much! I have not been active these past few months because I took a break from editing the first draft of novella one, and hadn't been writing much in general. But I feel inspired and plan to edit and hopefully write during August (around my camping trips) and in the autumn!
I'm not sure if anyone will read this far (lol) I kinda just have spewed nonsense. But I'm really excited for these next few months <3

Thanks to @orion-lacroix for the tag! I was gonna get to it earlier but... life happened and I forgor.
Eto bleh. Anyways.
(Also I'm writing this while incredibly tired, so I'm sorry if my English isn't up to scratch)
Writeblr Questionaire
How long have you had your Writeblr/writing Tumblr?
I've had this Tumblr account since the beginning of lockdown (March/April 2020 by us) and I created it because of a PM Seymour video. I made like one post that has now been banished to the void, then forgot I even had a Tumblr account until about ¿June/July? last year when a friend of mine brought up the idea of using Tumblr to share her writing, and I decided to do the same.
What's one thing you'd like your mutuals to know about you?
Due to reasons that include but are not limited to me barely having time anymore, I have a tendency to sometimes take a while to reply to people on here.
Don't worry if it takes like a week for me to respond, I'm just like that sometimes.
What's your favourite thing about the Writeblr community?
The amount of people who are infinitely more skilled than me that I can learn and take inspiration from.
Which WIPs or Writing Projects have you been Noodling about recently?
I've had a few emotional scenes for the Tempest Prince brewing in my head (plus I have like an hour with nothing to do after every exam I write, so daydreaming it is)
I'm also somewhat noodling for a small game I'm working on as a side project, but that's less story-related and more technical shenanigans at this point.
Do you remember what inspired them/got you started?
Children of the Stars I don't remember exactly what inspired the story aspect, but I know what the setting evolved from. Basically, I was a huge Mass Effect fan in primary school. Actually, I was a fan of Scifi overall but Mass Effect was peak gaming for me back then. Then somewhere along the line I played Bulletstorm and Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, and this half daydream of an Alien Empire locked in an eternal war for survival began to evolve in the back of my head before turning into the first recognisable precursor to Children of the Stars somewhere in late 2021.
Echoes of Shadows was inspired by the game Tails Noir, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, and a Call of Cthulhu campaign run by a friend of mine way back when.
The Tempest Prince was originally conceived of because my first playthrough of Bloodborne coincided with my first reading of the Percy Jackson books.
Is there anything you'd like to see more of on your dash?
Comics and short stories. Look, I don't have time to read a full length book until, like, November again, so a little episodic escape is a nice way to detox from the crap we need to deal with for these exams.
Name any characters you've created: side characters, protagonists, antagonists, characters who've never been written, the first original abomination you pulled from your rear... whatever you like!
Artemis is a Siberian ARX-11 mechanized shock-drop trooper who was deployed in a conflict so violent that future historians in-universe consider it less of a war than a outright cataclysm.
Quite literally, like the humble sea-turtle: she was born feet first into a hell she never asked for.
She's also one of the incredibly few Androids who not only survived the Fall of Earth, but after her inevitable 'death' by running out of fuel sources, she managed to remain intact for another six hundred years before a Union archaeology team found her and her enclave and managed to restore some of them to working order.
How much time- in your best estimation- do you spend thinking about them?
Outside the story of Children of Strife, this also makes her one of the oldest sentient beings in the known universe and technically the great great grandmother of almost all modern Androids and Biosynths.
It's also rumoured that she helped to raise a child orphaned during the fall of Earth who would grow up to be the military advisor of the first Empress, which technically makes her an important theological figure in the (now dying) Imperial cult.
Yes
Who's the most unhinged?
See, I'd say Adrian from Children of the Stars because he has a tendency to just do shit that makes you worry about his safety, but the thing with him is that he is fully aware of what he's actually capable of and is very cautious to not overstep those limits.
Lyanni, However...
One of Adrian's many nicknames for her is Miragran, which is Callistoan for "Big miracle", because that's what it must've taken for her to have not gotten herself killed yet.
Who comes the most naturally for you to write?
The fact that the answer is Adrian Castellan does not speak kindly about my mental health, does it...
Do you ever cringe at them?
How much control do you have over your characters? Do they ever write themselves, refuse to co-operate or do things you didn't expect? To what extent?
Not really.
Well, except for Adrian being a typical 27th century child who has no conception of sexism/racism/homophobia etc. beyond it being a footnote in a half-forgotten history textbook, which puts him in situations where it takes him a minute or two to realise that someone's being a prick to Lyanni.
I'd say I have relatively decent control over them. With the exception of the Haliday brothers in the Tempest Prince, 'cause they speak the same dialect of English as I do but I need to dial it back a bit because what's understandable for us has moments where it barely looks like English to foreigners.
And every so often I need to go back and un-Saffa their lines a bit because guess what? My dialect is annoyingly insistent on manifesting itself in these characters.
Are some less co-operative than others?
The old version of Adrian's character was really damn uncooperative. Like, he kept feeling like he was sitting on a story that he couldn't tell, and that was why he kept feeling like he was acting wrong no matter what I wrote him doing.
His current iteration tells that story in a way, and that element of tragedy playing into who he is has made him a lot more co-operative.
When someone asks the dreaded "What do you write about?" question, what do you usually say?
See, most people who know that I write are either close friends who already know what I write, or don't care enough to ask.
My grandmother, however, did ask the one time. That was also the day I realised that I know absolutely no scifi terminology in my home language.
Do you enjoy people asking questions about your characters and do you have a preferred way of receiving said questions?
Listen, if you wrote the question as a note, folded it into a paper airplane and threw it through my window, I'd firstly be very concerned about how in the nine hells you figured out where I live, then I'd be utterly ecstatic for the rest of the day because someone asked me a question.
I keep all my socials separate, though, so if you have any questions then asks, comments, and reblogs on Tumblr are pretty much the only way to go.
What makes you follow another Writeblr account? Do you follow them as you see them? Scope them out first to make sure you align with its content? Or do you follow based on WIPs or vibes?
Imma be honest there are like two people on here whom I followed simply because I know them IRL, and like three total writeblrs whom I followed first.
Everyone else followed me and I said "Ey, sha'p," before following back.
Do you interact with non-mutuals often?
I try to.
Do your mutuals' OCs occupy a space in your Noodle?
Absolutely!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello, everyone!
This is Myth from the Ask-A-Thon team, making a quick post about some things that have been going on behind the scenes. As many of you may have noticed, activity has dropped the past couple of weeks and we sincerely apologize for that. This post will explain why.
What Happened?
Early last week, both my writeblr and this blog (the two blogs I've been sending asks from the most) lost their ability to post and send asks entirely. These abilities were only regained today and I was told that this was likely due to the blog being viewed as spam or a bot by the site.
This means that we're a week or two behind on asks, as well as general updates about the blog and poll results, and we once again sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
What's Next?
For those of you unaware of the situations that have been going on with the temporary ask bans, the simple version is as follows:
Every so often, this blog gets temporarily banned from sending asks due to being seen as a bot or spam. As I'm sure you all know by now, we are in fact neither of those things! However, the blog continues to be struck and we feel that it may be best to shift away from the ask-based nature that this blog has used until now, due to the number of sent asks per day being one of the primary things causing this issue.
While we are unsure of exactly what changes may occur, we are currently brainstorming potential ideas for a new question system, as well as more catered questions for each person and fun question events you can participate in!
The situation may not be ideal, but Ask-A-Thon isn't going away and we hope that we are able to make the best of this situation and come to a decision that will allow us to continue spreading support and positivity throughout the writeblr community, as well as enable us to interact with you all a bit more directly!
Updates will continue to be posted, as well as feedback polls, as we navigate these changes. During this time, we will not be sending asks so as not to get the account flagged again. We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter and hope to hear from all of you again soon!

Hi, I hope you're doing well! ☺️ I was wondering if you have any tips on growing a writing account here on Tumblr? I want to post more things on my second account that I'm using for my fiction writing, but I'm not sure how to go about navigating tumblr's writing community and the right tags I should be using. 😭 So any tips/advice would help. Thank you. 🙂‍↕️🫶🏽
I feel really weird doing this, but I actually have professional insight into this sort of thing - I mean, professional is a strong way to put it. I was a social media manager for maybe four years for a few nonprofits. I wasn't really good at my job, but I did a lot of research and I was usually the youngest person on the team so people assumed I knew what I was doing. Good tip for young people here looking for remote work - if you look like you know how to use Instagram, there is a local nonprofit that will probably pay you to run their Instagram.
Uh anyway, I'd say it comes down to consistency, interaction, and finding your audience. I started this blog to sort of build up a presence online as an indie author before my first book comes out (A terrible thing all authors apparently have to do now), and while I planned to branch out to other platforms I've since changed course. I was looking for the platform that I believed had the most people that would at least be interested in what I write about, and I know that's this side of Tumblr. Legitimately all the aspec people all here. I refuse to try and break into BookTok.
But I also just love the community here. I found my niche, which is mainly badgering my fellow writers into sitting down to work and then singing their praises from the rooftops when they do. People like it, and since it's literally something I've fantasized about doing for years I enjoy doing it and it therefor comes across as genuine (I hope).
Maybe your niche is different. It could be drawing fanart of people's OCs, sending funny asks, or just providing fun comments to their posts. All of this draws attention. If you can draw attention in a way that other people aren't, the attention will be drawn to you.
Other than that, it takes time and requires consistency. You should post fairly regularly so you keep popping up in feeds. My platform has grown in a way that won't break records, but I consider buck wild for how long I've been here. I do acknowledge though that building a presence is a part of my job right now, so I can dedicate a lot more time to it.
In short, be normal. Be cool. Be there, taking part of the community somehow. For most posts I tag #writeblr, #writing community, and #actually writing, with other tags more focused on the specific content. I will be honest and say I'm not sure how well that works in my favor.
Good luck!

Writeblr intro 💙⭐️💜
Tumblr media
Flies into open window through helicopter wire and front rolls across room.
Wait, wrong window.
Repeats everything but into the correct window where you’re standing and magnificently introduces myself for the first time.
Hey~🕺🪩
A bit of backstory for this account. (Feel free to skip this and go straight into the intro below):
I made this blog ages ago to try and connect more with self shippers, but I ended up not doing anything with it because I became inactive in the self ship community (at least until now. I might make a separate blog for that later, but right now I’m focusing on some more important things in my life).
So I tried reforming this place into a “I’ll put whatever I want here” sorta thing, but once again became inactive. And now that Instagram (my main platform) has basically been rendered useless because of the tags not working anymore, I need to find a new “main” to talk about my writing and shit. So I’m trying for a third and hopefully final time to reform this blog, and turning it into a writing/oc blog. :b
Tumblr media
✨✨✨
About me:
✨✨✨
Tumblr media
🛸 My name is Rosalind B. Sterling, but you can call me Ross or Ros.
🛸 My age is—slowly looks up at the number twenty looming over me. Dear god. It’s coming.
🛸 I’m a college student. Or at least I’m supposed to be. If my school would just make the transfer process a bit easier, I’ll hopefully be able to make it this semester.
🛸 I’m a demibiromantic asexual, and genderfluid. My pronouns are she/he/they 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
🛸 I’m Puerto Rican, German, and Scottish.
🛸 I’m also neurodivergent.
I mention all this because I want everyone to know that this is this is a safe space for LGBTQ+, POC, disabled people etc, and I love using my experiences as a person from these groups to write diverse casts of characters into my books.
Tumblr media
✨✨✨
About my writing/what to expect from this blog:
✨✨✨
💜 I'm an author/writer, editor (mostly developmental), artist (mostly cartoonist), and reader who posts illustrations, writing content, book reviews, discussions, thirst traps of sexy characters 💅, and more. See? You get an enjoyable variety of content here ✨
💜 I primarily write adult oriented stories in the genres: crime, comedy, and sci-fi, while mixing in vintage/nostalgic elements from different time eras ranging from the 1920’s to the 2000’s. I also love playing Cupid and slipping in different romantic subplots with varying levels of spice.
💜 You’ll probably see a lot of morally gray characters, cartoon-style humor, a chaotic/meta writing style with 4th wall breaks, and lots of parody/spoofing in my stories.
💜 I’m a planster, and often don’t know what the hell I’m doing when I write. I just shit something out and shape it into something readable with the help of my many betas and editors who still somehow put up with me to this day (I love you guys).
Tumblr media
✨✨✨
What do I read?
✨✨✨
I like to read what I like write, except not everything I like to write is available in the book world. So at this point, I’ll read anything as long as it holds my attention for more than a few chapters.
Tumblr media
✨✨✨
Can I read anything of yours right now?
✨✨✨
⭐️ Yep!
My debut novel: "Villain vs. Villain and the Revitalization of the Transtemporal Case" is the first book in my illustrated, crime/comedy/sci-fi trilogy. It's currently on Amazon in ebook format, and on Goodreads. But I’m also in the works of getting the paperback out this month as well as the animated-ish book trailer.
Tumblr media
It’s a story about a time travel scandal taking place in 2005. Jonathan, a black market salesman, is on a journey to clear his name and stop his brother from messing with the timeline. Along the way, he teams up with an undercover agent and go on wacky adventures together as they attempt to reach their goals and hopefully put a stop to their dimension’s demise.
⭐️ I also have a few random short stories on my website blog which can be found here, however, I’m highly considering re-working them as they are all unedited, probably full of errors, and I also wrote these anywhere from months to years ago, so I don’t think they properly represent my current writing all that well.
⭐️ Honorable mention to my Webtoon which you can find here. I haven’t posted anything yet, but have plans to do mini comics with the characters of my Villain vs. Villain trilogy as a way to explore ideas and backstories I couldn’t explore in the books themselves.
Tumblr media
✨✨✨
Do you have any WIP's?
✨✨✨
Distant screaming.
Too many my friend...too many. But my main WIP right now is book 2 of my Villain vs. Villain trilogy. I also have a 1920's crime/comedy/sapphic romance short story thingamajig I've got in development that I hope to publish next year. I simply don't have the time, money, or energy to publish book 2 next year as I originally planned, so hopefully this short story will fill in that publishing gap until I get my trilogy figured out.
Tumblr media
✨✨✨
Some random facts about me:
✨✨✨
💙 I love anything Y2K, scene, noir, neon, synthwave, cyberpunk, etc. You name the aesthetic, I probably like it. (I have waaaay too many eclectic interests and styles so I’ll probably look different in every photo, and I’m putting my bets on it that this account won’t have a concise theme either).
💙 I have a shih tzu/writing partner named Dakota who will sometimes appear on my account. (He loves contributing to my drafts by jumping onto my lap and slamming his paws and ass on my keyboard). Also ignore the half destroyed chair he’s sitting on. He’s responsible for said destruction and is proud of it.
Tumblr media
💙 I currently live in Ohio, and yes, I can confirm first hand that it’s an entrance to the backrooms. The screams from outside keep getting louder too…
💙 Horror is my comfort/self indulgent genre. I would say the same about erotica but I really can’t seem to get into most books I find in that genre for some reason. So I mostly read shitty X reader fics online involving the characters I crush on (who totally aren’t cartoon men in their middle ages).
💙 Music is one of my biggest inspirations for writing. My favorite genres are 2000’s-2010’s pop music, and electro swing. My favorite artists are: Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Pitbull, Wolfgang Lohr, Swing’it, and more.
💙 I talk…a lot…as you can tell by the length of this blog 🌝
Tumblr media
✨✨✨
Welp, that’s all I got for now. I’m still working on reforming this blog, as I said earlier, so there might be a mess of random posts here here as well as an unfinished theme until I figure how the actual hell to use this platform. I sorta wanna post both orginal and fan content like I was doing before, but whenever I dedicate an account to my writing, I feel odd posting anything that’s not OC related. We’ll see what happens.
In the mean time, check my link tree for my other socials, website, and my editing services. If you follow this blog, I’ll most likely follow back because I need friends lmao. No matter your age, the genre you write, where you love etc, come say hi. I really don’t have restrictions on what kind of audience I want since I love everyone and wanna connect with as many writers/artists as I can. Hit up my DM’s too if you wanna chat. I’m always open to have a nice convo.
And with all that being said, welcome to my blog raaahhhh 🦅
Jumps out of window and dies.

Hello Writeblr!
Because I must be organized from the get-go, otherwise everything will just become chaos...
I'm a fantasy author--epic/high, cozy, urban, grimdark, doesn't matter the genre, if it fits under the fantasy category, I've probably either written it or have a WIP that fits. I'm not new to tumblr, but I'm definitely new to writeblr, and I'm here to make friends and learn about cool new WIPs/books!
My penname is H. A. Titus and I'm perfectly used to answering to H or HA.
CURRENT WIP
Tumblr media
A monster creeps along the edges of the Court boundaries, slaughtering any fey it can get its claws on.  As the Knights of the faerie queens, it falls to Perrie and Jasper to protect their courts. But in order to do so, they go against centuries of tradition and mistrust.  In a land of curses and secrets, they must unravel an ancient story and stop the slaughter, before the monster’s next targets—the queens—are destroyed, and the safe havens of all fey with them. Genre: epic fantasy, fantasy adventure, fey Tags: kotfq, Knights of the Faerie Queens
(Editing WIP and current serial under the cut!)
CURRENTLY EDITING
Tumblr media
Shifter. Thief. Crew leader. These are not Kildare Wingard's greatest secrets. There's something that he hasn't even told his teammates—that six months ago, he married their greatest rival, Serene, fellow shifter and thief. Because he loves her. Because she came to him for help. Before he can figure out a way to explain himself to the people he thinks of as family—and before he can rid himself of the nagging doubt that Serene is just using him—another problem rears its head. The team is hired by a secret employer. The task seems simple enough. All they have to do is steal a small treasure box from a museum. Kildare has everything accounted for. Except for betrayal from one of his own team members. Forced to choose between keeping his secrets, or being sold into slavery alongside the ones he loves, Kildare agrees to go after his former teammate and retrieve the treasure box. But in doing, Kildare and his crew find themselves embroiled in a deadly rivalry between two crimelords. Kildare is left desperate to keep his team, and his marriage, together—even when all their secrets and doubts threaten to destroy them. Genre: epic fantasy, fantasy/heist, romantasy Tags: thiefbytrade, TBT
CURRENT SERIAL
Tumblr media
In 1920s New York City, there's plenty of trouble to be had--especially if you're a half-fae private detective. Owan Craig and his assistant Roe Gillam beat the streets of the city while dodging the evil-doers and fae mobsters overrunning the city. Their cases are tough, and to crack them, the two have to be even tougher—a tall order, even for two detectives who have magic on their side. Genre: urban fantasy, detective Tags: Case Files, The Case Files of Owan Craig, Owan Craig
(Currently serializing The Green Man, the third novella in the book. The first two novellas, The Last Word and The Silver Bridle, are free to read until the end of the year.)

WIP Progress Sunday
I have discovered a fatal flaw in the structure of my wip.
Tumblr media
I have to re-think so many things, it’s not funny.
I for sure am not going to make my deadline.
Tumblr media
Anyone else having problems with their wip and want to commiserate with me?

Nevada’s Summer Update
Tumblr media
Hello all! I realize it’s been a while since I did a blog update. Since April’s supposed ‘monthly’ update in fact, so I’m catching up now with a “summer” review. A lot has happened that’s kept me from updating and being as active in the community as I like (mainly I was out of the country for a while and then I was ill a few times, but I’m better now). This last week I’ve been trying to wrap up my summer term and I’m hoping I’ll be able to take a few weeks off before the fall term starts. Let’s see what progress I’ve made since I’ve been ‘away’.
Personal life: My media goals have continued consistently. I’ve read 5 books (okay, maybe I’m behind, but I’ll definitely read a few for school), stayed caught up with 26 tv series, and watched a whooping 119 movies! In other news, I made the switch from being a pescatarian (4+ years) to being a vegetarian! It’s been about two months and I feel great! The only fish I’m missing is sushi, but that’s mainly to do with my ‘brand’, haha. And this week, I’ll be moving from an apartment which I share with three other people into an apartment on my own. I’m very excited!! I’m hoping it’ll be an improvement both mentally and creatively.
As far as writing goes, this is where I’ve faltered and what’s kept me so distant. Unfortunately, I have nothing of substance to report for my main WIP. However, part of the reason I’ve been lacking on TROD has been that I’ve been working on a new WIP idea. I’ve even created an intro post for BGG and will start outlining for it soon. And while I haven’t been writing for my main stories, I’ve started writing for small prompts and short stories again just in the last month which has really done wonders for keeping up my creativity.
Tumblr media
And so, over the next few days, I will be kept pretty busy moving into my new apartment. The very thought has me in a good mood and wanting to create again. As well as return to interacting with the community on a more frequent basis.
Along with being a general update, this is my official announcement that I will be participating in Storyteller Saturday, WIP Progress Sunday, and taking writing prompts and answering asks about my WIPs all weekend long. I’d love something to think about during my 3 hour drive and while I’m moving heavy furniture up a flight of stairs!
I’ll be reblogging ask games through out, but feel free to send me your OCC quotes, descriptions of your WIPs, facts about your characters (Fact Swap or tell me about your kids!), two of my fandoms or two or more of my characters for a writing prompt, or a general ask/question and I’ll be sending them back in return for a Writeblr weekend extravaganza!
Wish me luck on the move in!! And I hope everyone who sees this has a spectacular weekend!!
That’s all from me for now. Until the next blog update ~
~ Nevada 💜

Thank You
Tumblr media
If you’ll permit me a minute to be cliche: this photo would not have been possible without you. When I started university in August 2019, the sum of all my author-y potential measured up to:
No finished manuscripts
A pipe dream of ever publishing my work
A scatterbrained outline of The Laoche Chronicles
Forty-four phone notes full of half-witted ideas
A grand total of 3 followers on my brand-new tumblr account
At the time, I had no grand plans of marketing my work, though I knew it would be necessary if I ever wanted an audience. I chose a degree in chemical engineering because I knew my baby platform and half finished stories weren’t going to cut it as a career in their current state as an 18-year-old, and I needed to have a day job if I wanted to pursue my end dream of self publishing. I was just hoping to survive my first year of engineering school, pass my weed-out classes, and hopefully make some new friends. That fall semester passed with sporadic progress on my book, and halfhearted attempts at breaking into the writeblr community, until I decided to try my hand at Inktober and made my first few acquaintances: @siarven and @abalonetea, who have both featured on this blog since then. It was also at this point, sometime during a Calculus III lecture, that I invented my pen name:
Tumblr media
All was going well, and I was pleased with my incremental progress until the world ended.
The less said about the pandemic, the better. Writeblr truly kept me sane through working full-time jobs and taking 18 credit hours during the semester. When I was truly close to dropping out of school, I kept going, knowing I had these online friends to cheer me up after brutal exams and long nights of studying. The tag games and community filled the dearth of interaction left by quarantine and an insane schedule. During my summer internship in 2020, I finally had the time to finish the first draft of Storge and the confidence in myself to start a website. Rereading my first post is a surreal experience, in part because I still see myself as a little kid as hiding under the blankets with a flashlight, notebook, and pen, thinking “I wanna write a book!”
Tumblr media
I woke up the next day crying to the sheer volume of kind messages congratulating me on meeting this milestone. Instead of feeling burnt out after reaching such a lofty goal, this gave me all the more energy to keep working. Since then, I’ve been so blessed to grow this community and this website. It’s incredible to see how far I’ve come, now being able to claim:
A finished manuscript of Storge
A 3rd draft of Runaways after going through 2 rounds of Beta Readers
8 short stories and an audio drama
An active mailing list
Over 1000 followers on tumblr, but more importantly, a thriving community of writers who support each other’s releases through ARCs, leaving reviews, enthusiastic questions, and a welcoming space for new writers to share their craft.
140 posts on my website and regular readers who care about my ramblings ❤
Now I’m on my way to my new job – I’ll be doing research and development in my chosen field with a team I really like, and the freedom to listen to books while I’m in the lab. This next month will still be a hiatus for blog posts and new writing as I pack up my life for a cross-states move, but I’m beyond excited to enter change. My hope is that I can start saving for editing costs and devote more time to my craft thanks to a 9-5 schedule and NO!!! HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!! Really, I cannot say enough how thrilled I am to never have to take another exam ever again, thank GOD. With a bit of luck and no small amount of grace, I hope I can publish and share my stories with you sooner rather than later.
Thank you for all the support and camaraderie these past years. In a way, I owe this diploma to you as much as to my classmates and professors. The night before graduation, I said to my friends, “I’ve been waiting for tomorrow for eight years.” Now I’m living in the future, and I can’t wait to write the next chapter.

WIP Progress Sunday - best and worst part of this week for writing?
thank you @igotablankpage for dropping by! sorry for the short answer lmao
best part: i actually wrote something! and it was actually related to my wip!
worst part: it wasn’t actually anything that would be able to go in the actual draft, since a) it was all in second person & my wip is in third person and b) it wasn’t actually related to any of the plot stuff i intend to write about
